A BestBuy employee is “confirming” that the iPhone is coming to Sprint. A formal announcement welcoming the carrier could come as early as WWDC 2010. So the big rumored question is “will Steve Jobs unveil a Sprint iPhone at the conference?”

The employee confirming the Sprint iPhone works at a BestBuy outlet in Pennsylvania, although the store was not cited for violating the “privacy policy”. The source claims that shelf displays will surface within a time-frame that appears to neatly coincide with the start of the WWDC.

In the past, BestBuy employees are known to be left in the dark when it comes to major announcements and product releases. Even before the iPad release, there were no leaks or rumors traced back to BestBuy and the store’s workers. As we all know, Apple has a great business relationship with BestBuy. So this rumor is not so far fetched that an employee could have gotten wind of such important advanced information.

It kind of all makes sense since Sprint is more than capable providing real 4G service. This could explain why we are all calling the new iPhone “the iPhone 4G”.

Even with this all said, and yes it does sound logical. I don’t think it will happen with this release of the iPhone. My gut feeling is AT&T will be the exclusive carrier until Summer next year, then the iPhone will become a free agent so to speak and the bidding wars will begin.

It is reported that under network settings in the latest beta software, you have the option to set up internet tethering. When pressed you are greeted with a popup that gives you the options to call AT&T or send you to your online account to activate the tethering feature.

There is no “official” word yet, but it sure looks promising.

Hogan tried to get the iPhone 4G to work by plugging it into his roommate Katherine Martinsons computer after Apple had remotely wiped it clean. Martinson then became nervous that Apple would be able to trace back to her through the IP address of her computer. She then called Apple to clear herself of any type of criminal behavior. Martinson informed them that Hogan was offering the prototype to gadget blogs, where it finally made its way to Gizmodo where they supposedly awarded Hogan $5,000 for his find with an extra bonus after the iPhone 4G was released.

WOW, this is getting crazy.. I guess this is really the real deal and might just be the iPhone we will be getting in 2010.

It appears that my upgrade date changed from 11/24 to 6/21 in the last day or so. I purchased a 3GS on launch day last year and my eligibility date has been 11/24 since then.

Could this mean Monday June 21st be iPhone 4G release day? Hmmm Apple like to release on Fridays……. well we won’t know the facts until Mr Jobs tells us on WWDC day. At least we all know we can get the new one at the contract price and not have to either pay full price or painfully wait until the original eligibility date.

From the Vietnamese tech forum Taoviet, they posted pictures and a video of what looks like more of a complete iPhone than the one Gizmodo released.

The iPhone in this video looks in fact like the real deal, from the flat glossy front and back panels to the newly designed aluminum edges, the front facing camera, camera flash on the back, and the new microSim slot similar to the one on the iPad. The handset did not boot up, instead all we can see is a picture of a fireball and some text on the bottom.

This 16GB iPhone in Taoviet’s photos and video did not have the screws that was seen on Gizmodos prototype. This could just be a completed version.

One thing is for sure….. I want this phone. If this is an Apple marketing strategy it is sure working on me. A new iPhone this summer would be my fourth in four years…. I know I’m an iPhone addict.

If this is a real deal iPhone 4G, what the heck is going on with Apple and its security these days. In past years Apple has managed to keep a total hush particularly the iPhone until the WWDC announcement. Since the Apple engineer left his phone on a barstool and now this one……. Is Jobs and his crew are getting a little sloppy, or are they doing some farfetched ingenious marketing technique to whip up some iPhone interest of just about every person that surfs the web.

Forget it, since 2007 all we get is rumor after rumor after another rumor…….. It’s almost certain that a CDMA and LTE iPhone are hidden deep beneath the Apple vault in Cupertino. Apple can release a CDMA or LTE iPhone whenever they feel like it. Verizon will get an iPhone whenever it’s contractually allowed and when they come to a financial agreement.
When it comes to Apple and the iPhone, don’t believe anything until Steve Jobs holds it in his hand and gives a powerpoint presentation about it, until then it’s all media hype. It wouldn’t surprise me that the new iPhone 4G that was left in a bar was an arranged skit that Apple put together to get the iPhone hype and all the iPhone addicts all worked and anxious until the final release date.
